INTRODUCING THE EV PREMIUM X ERV

RenewAire®, a Waunakee, WI-based manufacturer of HVAC and indoor air quality (IAQ) products, introduced the EV Premium X model to its award-winning EV Premium Series product line of energy recovery ventilators (ERVs). The X joins the EV Premium Series models S, M and L. The EV Premium X provides energy recovery ventilation to small/medium commercial spaces under 3,500 sq. ft. and large residences surpassing 5 bedrooms and 4,000 sq. ft.

The EV Premium X ERV is the largest model in the award-winning EV Premium Series and offers up to 30% greater airflow capacity. Its 100 to 390-CFM makes it an ideal ERV for large single family homes, multi-family residences, nail salons, retail stores, health clinics, and applications requiring above average outdoor air volume and air changes/hr.

The EV Premium X surpasses legacy high volume, residential/ commercial models with RenewAire’s latest technology upgrades such as:

• EC motors combine with a highly efficient unit design to offer one of the industry’s lowest operational costs (2.44 CFM/watt @197 CFM and 0.2 external static pressure);
• Variable controls also enable an upgrade to the optional MERV 13 filter from the standard 2-inch MERV 8 without impeding performance;
• The Boost Mode quickly and quietly increases ventilation rate on user demand or automatically by sensors monitoring room contaminants to evacuate bathroom and kitchen odors;
• The Dial-A-Flow control allows for balancing outdoor/indoor air ratios without dampers.

Like all RenewAire ERVs, the EV Premium X uses G5 static-plate enthalpy core technology in the process of recovering energy from exhaust air and energy-efficiently heating or cooling the incoming outdoor air. There is near-zero cross contamination between outdoor/indoor air streams in RenewAire G5 core equipment, which makes it perfect for safely diluting biological and volatile organic compound (VOC) contaminants.

The EV Premium X’s 65-lb weight is considerably lighter than most competing models at similar CFM capabilities, which expedites indoor hanging and wall mounting installation. The X also comes with custom-designed bracket supports and is available as hard-wired or plugged. Other benefits of the EV Premium X include:

• Home Ventilation Institute (HVI)-certified for performance, ETL-listed and tested under UL 1812—“Standard for Safety Ducted Heat Recovery Ventilators”;
• Far surpasses the International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) 1.2 CFM/watt minimum ERV efficacy requirement;
• Compatibly connects with most HVAC systems to supply and condition outdoor air, or it can function as a stand-alone, dedicated ventilation system;
• Potentially supplants conventional bathroom fan equipment in new construction and recovers bathroom heat and humidity for energy efficient ventilation;
• Produces higher air volume, but with the same small footprint (24-3/8 (l) x 23-5/8 (w) x 27-1/4 (h)-inches) of legacy models.

The X may qualify for some rebates and incentives based on federal and regional availability. The EV Premium Series was recently recognized with a Brilliance Award at the TecHome/Builder and Housing Transformation Summit in the “Automated Ventilation System (HRV and ERV)” section in the HVAC/IAQ category.
